Over 5,000 Lives Impacted: 2025 Report of the Leadership Foundation for African Girl Child and Women by Mrs Viola Okoro.
In 2025, the Leadership Foundation for African Girl Child and Women directly impacted
over 5,000 lives, reflecting our commitment to transformative change.
While this year served as a period of rest after our ten-year anniversary and in preparation for the next phase of our Leadership Programmes, we continued to address critical issues.
We observed International Women’s Day on March 8 and the International Day of the Girl Child on October 11 by raising awareness of challenges facing girls and promoting solutions to prevent abuse and reduce stigmatisation.
We continued our empowerment and scholarship programmes and, with donor support,
sponsored medical treatment for two women in Nigeria with vision impairment.
All medical, transportation, and meal expenses were covered. One woman experienced an 85% improvement in vision, while the other did not see improvement but expressed gratitude for our support.
Each year, our activities begin on February 14 with a visit to an orphanage or a government hospital’s female ward.
Last year, we visited the Hope For All African Foundation Children’s Home as part of our humanitarian service, dedicating time and care to the residents.
International Women’s Day Celebration
On March 8, 2025, we celebrated International Women’s Day at Ilepo Bustop, Ejigbo, Lagos,
encouraging women to recognise their value despite challenges. Donor sponsorship supported the event, with CWAY Group providing water to ensure attendees had access to clean water in the Lagos heat.
This partnership enhanced collaboration and established a foundation for future initiatives.

On October 11, 2025, we celebrated the International Day of the Girl Child at Ilepo Bustop
and TREM Church in Ejigbo. Donors sponsored the events, and CWAY Group provided
water and beverages.
Although this year included fewer activities, we are planning a two-day African Girl Child
Leadership Conference in Enugu, South-Eastern Nigeria, on June 16, 2026. The theme is
“Shaping Africa’s Future Visionary Leadership: the transformational leadership skills
of the African girl-child”.
Building on lessons from past programmes, the conference will address key challenges and equip participants with leadership skills to drive progress. This approach ensures our experiences inform future growth and development.
We invite our donors to support this important event through funding, volunteering, or
partnerships. Your involvement is essential to the conference's success and will help empower the next generation of African female leaders.
